(sorry for the long preface. worth it, think 🙂 (there is no thc in cbd oil and is legal in all states.)
usually with paste, drops, etc. i just put on the kitty’s paw and they instinctively lick it off and ingest. the nuleaf cbd oil for pets cat formula of cbd drops is NOT liked by any of my cats. it’s pure, so the taste is pure…which most find a bit distateful. personally, i love the organic, all-natural, consistency and flavor. not one trick this pro cat daddy has tried has worked. the obvious one, forcing it into their mouths, cause them to gag (and sometimes puke) right after. if you’re reading this nuleaf, i’m sure your team can find an organic and safe fish/tuna flavor. 🙂
my new love is medterra….their cbd oil and cbd product selection and prices are great. they even have lotions, among other cbd oil products. this company, however, has a flavored pet cbd oil. i chose the “chicken-flavored” on for the kitties (no seafood ones 🙁 (but they had beef flavored, too)
first i put it on their paws. they weren’t freaked out from the stench (i love the smell.) with the nuleaf drops, i was, unfortunately, unable to monitor any of them to see if they licked it off. like usain at the olympics, they both bolted off into unknown galaxies.
so…next day i forced it into their mouths. not at all happy about that human behavior, but they stayed in the area and licked their chops as hoped.
(another way with giving cbd oil to your cats) — so, then i got mischievous and did something with just a small iota of mean…i filled the dropper and then sprinkled a drop directly onto his lips, while he lied there curled up beside me. when the sprinkle hit his mouth and he opened it wide and i quickly squeezed the rest into his mouth. done and done. tried it again on the other cat (had to wait til he was curled up beside me) and the exact same methodology worked.
(note: sprinkling either on their food was a no-go….had to toss perfectly good food and refill)
[disclaimer: i’m a 52yo cat daddy who has been raised with tons of cats all of my life, but i’m not an expert on all things…and i’m not a vet or work for any of the companies. these are just my opinions. always, always, consult with a vet on a regular basis…especially about cbd oil or any new introduction to stuff they will consume. safety dance first. they may or may not be educated since it’s so new (at the time i write this).]
both nuleaf and medterra are both highly recommended by me so far! the links to them are affiliate links that provide me with some commissioned incentive, but has *nothing* to do with my opinions/observations. that said, a boy still needs to pay his electric bill and the vet! 🙂
